Have you got a mobile charger plugged without a mobile attached?

I read yesterday on a newspaper that Kaiser Chiefs have signed an online petition putting pressure on the mobile phone industry to abolish energy-wating phone chargers.

The campaign is urging mobile phone industry to develop chargers that power down when are not in use. Leaving chargers pluggeds without a mobile attached fritters away enough electrecity to power 65.000 homes every year in UK alone.

“You should unplug everything: you TV, hi-fi and DVD. I do it every night before I go to bed” (Nick Hodgson, Kaiser Chiefs drummer).
