google recommendations?
Another google widget!
Few months ago I wrote a post about google and how was adopting new privacy measures to make it more difficult to identify people making online searches…
But today I read exactly the opposite! Google is planning to collect personal information on its users it will be able to advise them on what jobs to apply for and what to do on their days off.
They are on a race to create the most comprehensive database of users information so they will be able to attract more personalised adeverts.
“The goal is to enable Google users to ask the question such as, ‘What shall I do tomorrow?’, and, ‘What job shall I take?’”
Google is developing a service called google recommendations where the search suggests thing the user might like, based on their previous preferences. Amazing isn’it?
Privacy campaigners are concerned about privacy but google said that its personalisation services are optional. Mmmm…
At least they can only store information to two years!
I was thinking would be cool to have a button as in browsers to delete info/cookies/history… from google, what do you think?
