Make sure you have an outcome in mind when you create a blog post, why are you doing it? To sell beer? I just read Chow's book last night (cover to cover) for the first time. It is a really good read and does open your eyes to fact that you could be making money if you really put your mind to it. if your site makes no follow links i will eat your children.
