find similar music and movies

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

I discovered musicovery.com long time ago and I use it quite often because allow me to play music depending on my mood (positive, negative, dark, or energetic feeling), style or genere.

liveplasma

A few weeks ago I had some drinks with a friend and we started talking about some ideas we have for new websites, one was a kind of musicovery but for movies or books (now I use amazon). Easy for users to find similar movies related with one they liked. I have been surfing and it already exists (as usual). Liveplasma.com works on the same way (searching a keyword shows all related) as Musicovery but for movies, directors and actors.

Another one for my bookmarks.

nikon 10.5MM Fisheye

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Last weekend was one of those that leave you completely wasted.

weekend

Was my girlfriend’s birthday party and we celebrated in home with a fancy dress party. The picture can resume my hangover sunday. Anyway, we gave her as a present the Nikon 10.5MM Fisheye for her camera (nikon D70s), an awesome lent that she would never have bought it. A caprice (is very expensive) very useful for every photographer. I will post some pictures as soon as I have.

be ready for emergency situation

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

People has a lot of free time.

Someone has parodied ready.gov, a website with the puropose of prepare, plan and be informed for a possible emergency situation.

Some of my favourties:

  • If a door is closed, karate chop it open.
  • If you’ve become a radiation mutant with a deformed hand, remember to close the window. No one wants to see that.
  • If you hear the Backstreet Boys, Michael Bolton or Yanni on the radio, cower in the corner or run like hell.
  • If you see colors in the sky, grasp your throat and pretend to choke yourself. Girls go for that.
  • If the weather is overcast with dark skies, look for worms in the grass.

Funny stuff!

puncture hamilton’s wheel

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

As everyone should know this weekend is the last chance for the spaniard Fernando Alonso to win the 2007 F1 Championship.

hamiltonswheel.jpg

Three pilots (Alonso, Hamilton and Raikonnen) fighting for the championship on the last race of the year can produce one of the most astonishing races ever seen. I am not going to miss it!

If you prefere Alonso to Hamilton, I have just found this funny website where you can puncture hamilton’s wheel. You only have to select a spike, place it wherever you prefer on the track and wait…

magic blog action day

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Yesterday was the blog action day, I read a lot of posts from a lot of blogs about this issue and I think this video from Alex Laso is the best.

Is the first time I post something in spanish but I think deserve it.

Awesome wizard even though I got the candle trick :)

divisible by 7

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

I really like this kind of mathematical tricks…

divisible by 7

Do you need to know if a number is divisble by 7?

Easy! You have to multiply the last figure from your number by 2 and then, rest the result to the original number less this last figure. If the result is divisible by 7, or 0, then the original number is also divisible by 7.

Example:

133

3 x 2 = 6
13 - 6 = 7
7 is divisble by 7 (1), 133 is then divisible by 7

4578

8 x 2 = 16
457 - 16 = 441

now same with 441 (recursive)

1 x 2 = 2
44 - 2 = 42

42 is divisble by 7 (6), 4578 is then divisible by 7

If you don’t know the 7 times table :( you can continue the function until find number 7 or 0.

42
2 x 2 = 4
4 - 4 = 0

bath - salisbury - winchester

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Last weekend I rented a car (first time I drove on the left) and went with my girlfriend to explore new places at UK.

bath - salisbury - winchester

After managed to leave london (not easy on friday noon) I drove to Bath, a small city famous for its historic baths. We visited some small villages around it and of course, we enjoy the spa for a couple of hours.

On sunday we left the Bed&Breakfast and with a lovely day we steer drove to Stonehenge, one of the most famous prehistoric sites in the world, composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones. Next we had lunch on Salisbury and later a coffee on Winchester, both small citys where everyone seems to be relaxed and chill out (not like London).

Was a very nice trip, and the most important thing: allows my girlfriend to take 3.000.000 pictures :)

breathing earth

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Today (October 15th, 2007) is the blog action day, and I am going to put just my two cents to this cause

Do you know how much carbon dioxide is emitted in the World?

breathing earth
Breathingearth.net displays the carbon dioxide emission levels of every country in the world, as well as their birth and death rates (all in real-time). Though is just a simulation (uses the most accurate and up-to-date data available) the numbers shown are hair-raising!

edit your CSS II

Friday, October 12th, 2007

This isn’t my first post about how to edit CSS live

edit your CSS

As I told you, to edit my css live I use to work with the developer toolbar from mozilla and I think I will keep using it because is very useful, saved a lot of my time and has sort out a lot of small problems always have when I try to desing something that works for all browsers, I use to test it in IE6, IE7, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.

Yesterday, my friend Humberto sent me CSSVista a free Windows application for web developers which lets you edit your CSS code live in both Internet Explorer and Firefox simultaneously.

I downloaded the free version and it results a good tool, may be to similar to the mozilla one, but nowadays, every website is to similar to another one… nothing new!

They say the Internet Explorer is 6 but I have tested and is 7… Just to let you know and prevent you from a headache.

Anyway! Have a nice weekend!
